The Perfect T-Shirt
When: Saturday, April 19, 9:30-4:30 Skill Level: Beginner Instructor: Kathy Cost: $49 This is a t-shirt pattern unlike any you have ever tried before. It's made for a "real" woman and addresses the most common fitting issues we face: high round back, forward shoulder, and full hip and bust. This pattern customizes to a good fit through the shoulder and neck areas. Design details include an "essence of waist," flattering shirt-tail hemline, 3 neckline choices, and 4 sleeve length options. We will include a full bust adjustment if needed. You'll go home with a t-shirt customized to your figure and a pattern you can use over and over again! |

Sew an Embroidered Machine Cover
When: Thursday, May 22, 10:00-4:00 Skill Level: Beginner Instructor: Kathy Cost: $39 Join us for this creative class when we will design, embroider and sew a dust cover that fits your machine or serger. Use those decorative stitches on your machine or one of our classroom machines for fun pops of color coordinated to the print fabric of your choice. Accessory pockets on the outside are optional. |

Zipper Tips
When: Thursday, May 8, 12:00-4:00 Skill Level: Beginner Instructor: Kathy Cost: $39 Do zippers scare you? Take this class and lose your fear! Kathy will demonstrate 3 different zipper applications (centered zipper, lapped zipper, and invisible zipper) one by one, and you will try each. You'll go home with your three zipper samples and a hand-out explaining how to do each one. |

Learn To Sew
When: Saturday, June 7, 9:30-4:30 Skill Level: Beginner Instructor: Sylvia Cost: $39 Learn all about fabrics, how to use a sewing machine, and how to use a commercial sewing pattern to create a comfy pair of pajama or lounge pants. By the end of the day, you'll be past the beginner stage and ready for your next project! If you have a machine, you may bring it, or you are welcome to use one of our classroom Baby Lock sewing machines. We generally do Learn To Sew classes once a month. Future dates are planned for July 5 and August 2. |

Serger Tips & Techniques, Part 2
When: May 14, 10:00-1:00 Skill Level: Beginner Instructor: Sylvia Cost: $39 In this class, you'll learn serger techniques that you can do with your 8-thread serger: cover stitch, chain stitch, and more! Sylvia will walk you through the adjustments for each and you'll make samples for each with attached cards listing the settings on your machine. Bring your own machine or use one of ours by prior arrangement. All supplies included except serger thread. |

Learn To Sew More
When: Thursday, May 22, 4:00-7:00 Skill Level: Beginner Instructor: Sylvia Cost: $39 Have you taken Learn To Sew, made your pajama pants, and are ready for your next garment project? Bring any garment project you're working on, and Sylvia will guide you through the process. She can help you start by using measurements to choose pattern size, laying out the pattern pieces on the fabric, and cutting. Or if you're in the middle of a project and stuck on something, she can help you problem solve and/or teach you techniques needed to accomplish next steps. Fitting issues can be addressed along with finishing choices and techniques. |

Exploring Binding Techniques
When: Thursday, May 29, 4:00-7:00 Skill Level: Beginner Instructor: Kathy Cost: $39 Whether you're finishing a quilt or a sleeveless blouse, you will need to decide on a technique you'll use to bind the edges. Come to this class to explore the options. We will "learn and do" several different ways to bind fabric edges on quilts and on garments, using both commercially packaged and self-made binding strips. You'll go home with samples you've made and a hand-out explaining how to do each one. |

Upcycled Jeans Bag
When: Saturday, May 31, 10:00-4:00 Skill Level: Beginner Instructor: Kathy Cost: $49 Got a pair of worn or too small/large jeans? Make a bag! A nice-looking, lined bag with a back pocket! Or use new denim, corduroy or upholstery fabric. This is a fun, one-day project that makes a great gift or a treat for yourself. And no hardware to mess with . . . just fabric and thread! |

Machine Home Maintenance
When: Monday, June 2, 10:30-12:00 Skill Level: Beginner Instructor: Sarah Cost: $20 Prolong the life of your sewing machine and serger, and avoid costly repairs, by learning simple techniques to keep debris, fuzz, dust and thread ends from clogging the area under the needle plate. Sarah will guide you through this easy procedure using a few basic tools. A healthy machine makes for a happy sewer! |

Casual and polished at the same time and perfect to throw on over jeans or capri pants. Tunic length with a slightly longer back, it will hide a multitude of fluff! The front has a nicely semi-fitted look, but the back is what sets this top apart, with its box pleat and slightly curved low back yoke. Choose between two necklines and several sleeve lengths for a custom look. |

Since you already have a customized version of that pattern that fits you perfectly, bring it to class and learn how to extend it in an attractive A-line shape to make a comfortable, lightweight cotton t-shirt dress for the hot weather. These dresses are like potato chips; you can't make just one! Since you already have the pattern, all you need is fabric and thread. (Stay tapes provided in class) |
